Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Lead the pharmacy operations as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for a new behavioral hospital opening in Peoria, IL. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to shape the pharmacy services from the ground up at a facility specializing in behavioral health. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the pharmacy department, such as approving medication orders, managing inventory with Omnicell automation, participating in Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee meetings, and setting up pharmacy workflows. You will be the sole pharmacist onsite, providing leadership during regular business hours and supporting on-call coverage after shifts and potentially on weekends. Training will be provided for the hospital's Order Entry System (HCS) and Omnicell automation. Preferred candidates will have inpatient hospital experience, especially in behavioral health settings. Licensure as a pharmacist in Illinois is required to practice in this role. Experience with HCS order entry and Omnicell site automation is highly desirable to ensure smooth implementation.

Peoria International Airport serves the region for ease of travel.
