The Director of Pharmacy is the sole pharmacist on-site, making this an ideal role for a confident, self-sufficient pharmacy leader comfortable making independent clinical and operational decisions. Responsibilities Serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing all pharmacy operations Manage all day-to-day pharmacy functions as the sole pharmacist on site Oversee medication dispensing verification and distribution throughout the facility Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations and accreditation standards Manage Omnicell automated dispensing systems throughout the facility Utilize the HCS pharmacy order entry system for daily prescription processing and documentation Provide on-call coverage after each shift and occasional weekend on-call support as needed Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain the highest standards of patient safety in a behavioral health setting Experience Director of Pharmacy or pharmacy management experience required Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required Behavioral health pharmacy experience a plus Experience as a sole pharmacist or in a small pharmacy team environment preferred HCS order entry system experience preferred Omnicell experience preferred Skills Highly self-sufficient and confident as the sole pharmacist and director on site Strong operational and compliance management skills Comfortable with on-call responsibilities after hours and occasional weekends Effective communicator with physicians, nursing, and behavioral health care teams Calm and reliable under pressure in a specialized behavioral health environment Qualifications Active Illinois Pharmacist License is required Willingness to serve as Pharmacist in Charge required Education Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy is required This is a great opportunity for a pharmacy director who values autonomy, independence, and the satisfaction of leading an entire pharmacy operation independently in a meaningful behavioral health environment. and feel free to reach out to Thomas directly, we would love to connect and tell you more about this opportunity!
