Supervises and coordinates the clinical activities of the Pharmacy Department; supervises and coordinates the activities of the Clinical Pharmacists and their daily work schedule; performs pharmaceutical patient care duties including kinetic dosing, DUKE's, ADR's and patient counseling; conducts in-services for the medical and nursing staff; responsible for the clinical training issues of all Pharmacy staff. Works with various departments to deliver Pharmacy services. Responds to requests from the medical staff for assistance with medication dosing and evaluation. Responds to requests for patient medication counseling. Assists with medical and nursing staff to ensure the best patient care in a most cost-effective manner. Conducts in-services for the Hospital professional staff (pharmacists, technicians, nurses, and medical staff). Develops plans for the department. Establishes QA/QI monitoring of Pharmacy clinical activities. Develops clinical pharmacy service plan that interfaces with Department and System mission and goals. Assists the Director-Pharmacy with maintaining and projecting medication budget. Analyze drug spend trends to identify areas of opportunity and implement appropriate use/development of protocols and guidelines. Assists in preparation of annual facility clinical initiative savings budgets. Participates in quality improvement, fiscal and productivity goals and objectives with upper management. Oversees clinical program. Performs a review of clinical pharmacy services to ensure safe medication practice and quality patient outcomes. Provides periodic review of documented clinical interventions and provides summary reports and recommendations to facilities on quality/content of documentation. Maintain effective communication with facility directors and leadership teams on clinical initiatives and facility and division results. Assists in development of "best practice" recommendations for clinical procedures to minimize adverse events and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Facilitates review of division ADE/ADR reports to work on identifying trends and process improvement initiatives. Provides education to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, providers, and nurses related to the safe and effective utilization medications through pharmacy services. Ensures provision of education and support at LifeBridge facilities with regard to clinical pharmacy responsibilities, clinical protocol justification, execution and implementation. Provides education through support via webinar, tele-conference, live or other communication. Provides opportunities for preceptor development across the system to support the pharmacy residency program and pharmacy students. Works with internal and external customers to deliver the highest level of pharmaceutical care through the use of information technology.Experience and Qualifications:
5-7 years of relevant experience PharmB or MScPhm or PharmD is required Pharmacist License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland licenseBoard Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist Pay Range:
$81.93 to $122.90 (based on experience)Benefits:
