The role demands excellent consultation skills and a strong foundation in retail and specialty pharmacy practices, particularly managing chronic and advanced disease states.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert consultation to patients taking multiple medications, often with complex conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. Engage compassionately with a Medicare/Medicaid patient base, many of whom have low literacy levels, ensuring clear communication and understanding of medication regimens. Utilize Rx30 pharmacy software to manage prescriptions and patient records efficiently. Focus on comprehensive patient care rather than volume, emphasizing tailored medication counseling and disease state management.

Desired Qualifications:

Strong retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience with proficiency in managing chronic disease states. Exceptional communication and patient consultation skills with a high degree of patience and empathy. Knowledge of the top 200-400 retail medications and specialty pharmaceuticals. Experience with Medicare/Medicaid populations and low-income patients is highly preferred. Familiarity with specialty pharmacy operations is a significant advantage. Active pharmacist license in the state.

Westerville, OH Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Per diem, as needed flexibility
