Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire A full-time Pharmacist is needed for a retail pharmacy setting in Altoona, PA. This direct hire opportunity offers a dynamic role with varied day and afternoon shifts, totaling 74 bi-weekly hours to ensure flexible scheduling. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with store operations to engage associates and communicate pharmacy strategies effectively. You will ensure all prescriptions are accurately and appropriately filled, complying with state and federal regulations through thorough Drug Utilization Reviews and Final Quality Assurance checks. Managing the pharmacy department's profitability and growth is key, utilizing clinical programs such as immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM) when available. Additional duties include inventory management, performance alignment with key metrics, providing excellent customer service and healthcare counseling, supervising and training pharmacy staff, and maintaining pharmacy security. The role involves resolving customer concerns, liaising with physicians, and supporting continuous staff development to improve performance and reduce turnover. Prioritization of daily pharmacy tasks, including cycle counts, inventory control, and will-call management, is essential.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License Current Pennsylvania Immunization License Strong leadership and communication skills Experience in retail pharmacy operations and inventory management
