Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This full-time Director of Pharmacy position is based in York, PA, and offers a direct hire opportunity within a critical access illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing exceptional inpatient post-ICU care for chronic, critically ill patients. This role requires a dedicated pharmacy leader to oversee the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial aspects of the hospital pharmacy while collaborating closely with the CEO and clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate preparation of drugs and chemicals. Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards. Oversee and administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program. Develop and implement new employee training and educational initiatives. Engage in quality assurance activities related to drug utilization and therapeutic effectiveness. Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring and counseling. Develop at least one clinically oriented pharmacy program annually, such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service, Patient Counseling, Pain Management Services, or Nutritional Support Service. Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient-centered care. Provide education and counseling for patients and their families.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of all education required for state pharmacy licensure. Minimum of three years' hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years. Current state pharmacy license and BLS certification if required by state regulations.
Preferred:
PharmD or BS Pharmacy plus an advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency. Managerial experience of at least one year is preferred. Board Certification and/or Residency completion is a plus.
