Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This leadership opportunity invites a dedicated pharmacy professional to oversee and elevate pharmacy services at a hospital specializing in inpatient post-ICU recovery for chronic, critically ill patients. Located in Alle Kiski, this facility prioritizes a culture driven by patient-centered care, innovation, and trust-building across multidisciplinary teams. As Director of Pharmacy, you will serve as the clinical and operational leader of the pharmacy department, collaborating closely with executive leadership and clinical colleagues. Your responsibilities will span from ensuring accurate preparation of medications to maintaining compliance with regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission and CMS. You will manage adverse drug reaction programs, lead staff training initiatives, and actively engage in quality assurance and patient drug therapy monitoring. Additionally, you will develop at least one clinically oriented program annually—examples include Pharmacokinetic Dosing Services, Pain Management, or Nutritional Support. Emphasizing continuous quality improvement, you will also contribute to patient and family education efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the clinical, administrative, and financial aspects of the hospital pharmacy Ensure pharmacy operations comply with regulatory requirements Manage adverse drug reaction reporting and follow-up Develop and implement training programs for new employees Participate in quality assurance and drug utilization reviews Design and launch innovative clinical pharmacy programs annually Foster a culture of patient education and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
Completion of all educational requirements for state licensure Minimum of three years hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years Current pharmacy license in the state of practice BLS certification if required by state regulations
Preferred:
PharmD or BS Pharm with advanced degree or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency
Preferred:
At least one year in a pharmacy managerial role Board certification and/or residency highly desirable
