Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire An established critical illness recovery hospital specializing in inpatient post-ICU care is seeking a Director of Pharmacy (DOP) to lead its pharmacy operations at the Alle Kiski location. This full-time leadership position offers the opportunity to manage clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial aspects of pharmacy services delivered to chronic, critically ill patients requiring extended recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all pharmacy functions, ensuring accurate preparation and dispensing of medications. Ensure full compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards. Oversee the Adverse Drug Reaction Program and participate in related quality assurance initiatives. Develop and implement training and education programs for new pharmacy staff. Monitor patient drug therapy and participate in clinical programs, developing at least one innovative clinical service annually such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing, Patient Counseling, Pain Management, or Nutritional Support Services. Promote continuous quality improvement and foster a patient-centered care environment. Collaborate closely with hospital leadership and clinical teams, reporting directly to the CEO. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families as needed.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of all educational requirements for state licensure. Minimum of three years' hospital pharmacy experience within the past five years. Current pharmacy license in the state of practice. BLS certification if required by state regulations.
Preferred:
PharmD or BS Pharm with an advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency. One year of managerial pharmacy experience preferred. Board Certification and/or Residency completion highly desirable.
