Position Overview:
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Pharmacy Services to join our esteemed team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of overseeing pharmaceutical services within a behavioral health hospital setting. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, you will ensure the safe and effective use of medications, contribute to treatment plans, and uphold compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Provide visionary leadership to the pharmacy team, fostering a collaborative and patient-centered approach. Supervise daily pharmacy operations, ensuring strict compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy management for behavioral health patients.
Clinical Services:
Conduct thorough medication therapy management reviews, offering recommendations to optimize patient outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans. Monitor and manage drug therapy, making necessary adjustments to ensure safety and efficacy.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure meticulous compliance with state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practices in behavioral health settings. Oversee the meticulous maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records, including controlled substance inventory.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and sustain quality assurance programs aimed at enhancing medication safety and elevating patient care standards. Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of pharmacy services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy school. Current and unrestricted pharmacy license in the state of Pennsylvania. Preferred experience in a behavioral health or psychiatric pharmacy setting; however, training will be provided to the right candidate. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead autonomously. Commitment to patient safety and excellence in pharmaceutical services.
