Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire A leadership role overseeing pharmacy operations at a critical access illness recovery hospital in York, PA, offers the opportunity to impact patient outcomes in a post-ICU setting. This full-time Director of Pharmacy position is ideal for a pharmacy professional dedicated to integrating patient-centered care with operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital pharmacy. Prepare medications accurately while ensuring adherence to The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards. Manage and administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program effectively. Develop and conduct training and education programs for new pharmacy staff. Participate in quality assurance initiatives focused on drug utilization and effectiveness. Monitor patient drug therapy and contribute to clinical care decisions. Develop at least one new clinically oriented program annually, such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service or Pain Management Services. Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement. Provide patient and family education and counseling.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Completion of all educational requirements for state pharmacy licensure. Minimum three years of hospital experience within the past five years. Active state pharmacy license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification if required.
Preferred:
PharmD or BS Pharmacy with an advanced degree or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency. At least one year in a managerial role is desired. Board Certification and/or Residency completion strongly preferred.
