Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract An advanced leadership role is available for a Specialty Pharmacy Manager within a growing specialty pharmacy operation serving Central and Upstate New York. This position offers a dynamic work model, beginning with a hybrid remote schedule from Oneonta, NY, before transitioning to a brand-new onsite specialty pharmacy location in Utica, NY, upon its completion and licensing.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the specialty pharmacy, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Oversee clinical, operational, and administrative aspects, fostering high-quality patient care and effective team collaboration. Coordinate prior authorizations, specialty medication dispensing, and inventory management. Maintain strong communication with patients, healthcare providers, and internal pharmacy teams to optimize specialty medication use and outcomes. Implement and uphold specialty pharmacy accreditation standards such as URAC and ACHC. Support the development and growth of the specialty disease state services, including oncology, HIV, infusion therapies, and rare diseases.
Qualifications:
Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing Proven specialty pharmacy experience (mandatory) Demonstrated pharmacy leadership or management background Ability and willingness to work initially in a hybrid remote capacity and fully onsite in Utica upon facility opening Strong operational and team management capabilities Familiarity with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards (URAC, ACHC) is highly preferred Experience with prior authorizations and specialty medication management Exceptional communication skills with patients, providers, and pharmacy staff This unique role offers the opportunity to shape and drive a cutting-edge specialty pharmacy operation while transitioning into an exciting new facility.
