Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A community hospital in Northern Virginia, conveniently located near the Washington, DC metro area is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Pharmacy for an immediate opening. This leadership role is ideal for a pharmacist with recent management experience who can step in and provide operational oversight while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department Supervise and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards Lead departmental meetings and collaborate with hospital leadership Monitor workflow efficiency and implement process improvements Support clinical and operational pharmacy services as needed
Qualifications:
Active Virginia Pharmacist License (required) Minimum of ~2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy management experience Strong understanding of hospital operations and regulatory requirements Proven leadership and team management abilities
Skills:
Proficiency with Meditech and Omnicell systems Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Ability to lead in a fast-paced healthcare environment
