Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract A critical position is available for a Pharmacy Manager to serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a small behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This role offers the unique opportunity to oversee pharmacy operations in a newly established hospital—a joint venture between prominent health organizations. The assignment begins ASAP and will last 13 weeks, with potential to transition from contract to permanent.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge, overseeing medication dispensing and staff supervision. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize pharmacotherapy for behavioral health patients. Maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and ensure proper medication storage. Implement quality assurance procedures to enhance patient safety. Lead and train pharmacy staff to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical care.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active pharmacist license with ability to serve as PIC. Proven experience as a Pharmacy Manager, preferably in behavioral health settings. Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage pharmacy operations efficiently.
