Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire Lead pharmaceutical services as the Director of Pharmacy at a well-established hospital located in Yorktown, VA. This full-time, direct hire position offers the opportunity to drive clinical pharmacy operations and collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient care excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all pharmacy services, including clinical functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as Joint Commission, DOH, and Board of Pharmacy. Supervise pharmacy department supervisors and staff, directing daily operations to enhance service quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement departmental objectives aligned with hospital policies, ensuring staff are well-trained, engaged, and provided with continuous learning and career growth opportunities. Provide ongoing performance feedback to foster skill development and process improvements. Manage budgeting for capital equipment and operational expenses, projecting departmental revenues. Serve on hospital committees, participate in meetings, and communicate policies concerning pharmacy services hospital-wide. Maintain proper documentation systems for authorized prescribers and pharmaceutical supply requisitioning.
Qualifications:
Current state pharmacist licensure is required. Minimum of three years hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years. Proven ability to operate an efficient pharmacy within a healthcare organization.
Preferred:
At least one year in a managerial position demonstrating leadership capabilities.
