Job Description
Description St. Croix Health is looking for a Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Unity Clinic. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with daytime hours, providing an excellent opportunity to be part of a dedicated healthcare team serving our community. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining accurate drug inventory, and ensuring proper documentation of pharmacy activities. All tasks are performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with regulatory guidelines and institutional policies. Process Prescriptions Receive new prescriptions and refill requests, verifying the information for accuracy and completeness Process prescriptions through insurance systems, resolving rejections or coverage issues as needed Prepare and package bulk medications, fill prescription bottles and affix appropriate labels in accordance with legal and safety standards File prescriptions and maintain accurate records to ensure regulatory compliance and ease of retrieval Mix or compound pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescription, formula, or pharmacist instructions, ensuring proper technique and documentation. Stock Medication and Inventory Maintain appropriate storage conditions and security protocols for all medications in accordance with regulatory and safety standards Order, receive, label and count medications, chemicals and pharmacy supplies Update inventory records in the pharmacy information system to ensure accurate tracking and stock control Customer Service Assist customer by answering routine questions, help locating items, and refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist when appropriate Answer telephone inquiries promptly and courteously, directing calls to the appropriate personnel as needed Operate the cash register to process payments accurately, including handling cash, credit or electronic transactions, and providing receipts to customers. • While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the job requirements, management reserves the right to modify, add or remove duties from particular jobs and to assign other duties as necessary.
