Job Description

Director, Acute Care Clinical Pharmacy Services Marshall Health Network Marshall Health Network is seeking an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Director of Acute Care Clinical Pharmacy Services. This system-level leadership role is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of clinical pharmacy services across Marshall Health Network entities while advancing high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based pharmacy practice. Reporting to the Chief Pharmacy Officer, the Director will collaborate with pharmacy leadership, physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leadership, informatics teams, and other key stakeholders to standardize and optimize clinical pharmacy services across the health system. Pharmacy Residency Program. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for clinical pharmacy services across Marshall Health Network. Lead the development, implementation, and standardization of evidence-based clinical pharmacy programs, protocols, and initiatives. Collaborate with pharmacy informatics and information technology teams to optimize clinical decision support tools and workflows. Support ongoing clinical competency, professional development, and performance of pharmacists and pharmacy staff. Partner with pharmacy leadership to establish and achieve system-wide clinical pharmacy goals and strategic initiatives. Serve as Residency Program Director for the
MHN PGY1
Pharmacy Residency Program, ensuring accreditation compliance and resident development. Provide oversight of pharmacy student experiential education programs within acute care settings. Lead and support medication safety, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and accreditation initiatives. Participate in formulary management, medication-use evaluations, clinical guideline development, and medication stewardship efforts. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to pharmacists, residents, students, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Actively participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T), Order Set, Protocol, and other interdisciplinary committees.
Requirements:
Education BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy required ASHP-accredited PGY1 Residency required Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) or related degree preferred Board Certification in a clinical specialty preferred Licensure Active, unrestricted West Virginia Pharmacist License required or eligibility to obtain licensure Experience Minimum of five years of clinical pharmacy experience within a health system required Minimum of two years of hospital or health system pharmacy management experience preferred Experience working within a multi-hospital or integrated health system strongly preferred Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical pharmacy programs preferred Leadership Responsibilities This position provides leadership and oversight for: Medication Use and Safety Manager Clinical Pharmacists at Cabell Huntington Hospital Clinical Pharmacists at St. Mary's Medical Center
