Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract To Hire A veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician with compounding experience to support a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with an immediate start and a Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional flexibility as needed. Responsibilities include preparing and compounding primarily non-sterile veterinary medications, with some sterile preparations, packaging and labeling prescriptions for shipment, and maintaining compounding equipment and work areas in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). The technician will assist pharmacists with daily workflow, maintain accurate documentation and inventory, and support quality assurance standards while contributing to the shipping of over 200 prescriptions daily. This role operates within a collaborative team comprised of multiple pharmacy technicians and four pharmacists, utilizing software such as PK Software and QuickBooks Online, with a planned transition to Pharmetica in the near future.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current Pharmacy Technician registration/certification as required by the state Proven compounding pharmacy experience, especially in non-sterile compounding Experience with sterile compounding is preferred PTCB certification preferred but not mandatory Veterinary or animal compounding experience is advantageous Strong attention to detail and ability to strictly follow SOPs Dependability, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic Ability to adapt quickly to new workflows and work effectively in a team-oriented, production-driven environment This opportunity is ideal for candidates who take pride in producing high-quality medications and demonstrate consistent reliability and adaptability.
