What you'll do Prepare and dispense medications accurately, including sterile IV infusions and compounded medications, following aseptic techniques and sterile IV admixture procedures. Utilize pharmacy software for data entry, medication tracking, and maintaining precise records while ensuring patient confidentiality. Assist pharmacists with medication administration, drug regulation compliance, and adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws. Support inventory management by verifying stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper storage of pharmaceuticals. Provide excellent patient service by answering medication-related questions, clarifying prescriptions, and supporting patient care initiatives. Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance through accurate documentation, drug regulation adherence, and knowledge of medical terminology. Maintain a clean and sterile work environment using aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures. Experience Proven pharmacy technician experience in hospital or community pharmacy settings. Demonstrated proficiency with pharmacy software systems and data entry processes. Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, pharmacological terminology, and medical terminology. Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations including IV infusion preparation and sterile compounding. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program is required; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is preferred. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, drug regulation laws, and patient confidentiality standards. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and effective communication within healthcare teams.
