Pharmacy Technician will:
Assists with promptly and accurately filling prescriptions, while working under supervision of Pharmacist. Retail and/or hospital pharmacy experience preferred but will consider highly motivated new graduate. Responsibilities include operating the cash register, entering patient demographics and insurance information, pharmacy billing, collection follow-up and rebilling. Roles & Responsibilities Must be experienced in performing various tasks such as: Processing prescriptions. Billing and maintaining patient's records. Managing inventory. Providing customer service. Additional tasks assigned as needed. Qualifications & Skills Current California Pharmacy Technician certification required. Must be flexible and willing to float to other work areas as needed. Must be able to effectively communicate in English; both verbal and written. Frequently faced paced environment, requires ability to handle stress and interface professionally, tactfully and respectfully with customers and staff. Basic computer skills required. in treatment procedures. Understands charting requirements and consistently documents appropriate information. Provides general nursing care such as positioning patients, lifting, and turning patients, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in use of bedpan or commode, purwik, external catheters, and ambulating the patients, getting patients out of bed for meals. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, blood pressure, and intake-output. Reports variations from normal to Nurse. Makes rounds with outgoing shift; knows whereabouts of assigned patients. Makes rounds with oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition. Adheres to policies and procedures of the facility and the Acute Care & Emergency Room Nursing Department. Turns and positions patients as ordered and/or as needed, making sure no rough surfaces are in direct contact with the body. Lifts and turns with proper and safe body mechanics and with available resources. Disposes of hazardous, infectious, and/or contaminated waste according to policy and procedure. Checks for reddened areas or skin breakdown and reports to RN or LVN. Ensure patients are dressed properly and assist, as necessary. Ensure that used clothing is properly stored in bedside stand or on hangers in closet. Ensure that all patients are always clean and dry. Checks unit for adequate linen. Provides clean linen and clothing. Fill warmer with blankets when needed. Make beds and change bed linens to ensure a clean, comfortable environment. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Provides reality orientation in daily care. Prepares patients for meals; serves and removes food trays and assists with meals or feeds patients, if necessary. Distributes drinking water and other nourishment to patients. Performs general care activities for patients in isolation. Answers patients' call lights, anticipates patients' needs, and makes rounds to assigned patients. Assists patients with handling and care of clothing and other personal property (including dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, and prosthetic devices). Transports patients to and from various departments, as requested. Reports and, when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients and unusual incidents. Follows directions, both oral and written, and collaborates cooperatively with other staff members. Must have the ability to acquire knowledge of and develop skills in basic nursing procedures and simple charting. Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, family members and other facility personnel while assuring confidentiality of patient information. Attends in-service education programs, as assigned, to learn new treatments, procedures, developmental skills, etc. Practices careful, efficient, and non-wasteful use of supplies and linen and follows established charge procedure for patient charge items. Maintains personal health in order to prevent absence from work due to health problems. Possesses a genuine interest and concern for geriatric and disabled persons. Performs a passive range of motion (PROM) along with ambulation to patients. Perform vital sign checks on patients as required: temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation checks for all patients
