Responsibilities include providing service to customers coming to the pharmacy, answering telephones, assembling floor stock medications, refilling Pyxis machines, transportation of medications to and from nursing floors and departments, pre-packing and labeling medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Performs floor stock inspections. Performs timely and accurate delivery of controlled substances to patient care areas. Performs Pyxis override and ED audits. Prepare anesthesia drug trays and operation of the TraySafe system, prepares emergency drug trays and crash cart replenishments independently according to pharmacy law. Performs home medication information collection in ED and on nursing units. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent A working skill in general mathematics and familiarity with drug nomenclature and/or medical terminology preferred Fulfills mandatory stroke education requirements per certification agency
Intern:
Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy preferred.
License Required Technician:
California Board of Pharmacy Technician License (TCHRX)
Intern:
Pharmacy Intern License (INTRX) or California Board of Pharmacy Technician License (TCHRX)
License Preferred N/A Certifications Required N/A Certifications Preferred Technician:
Certified Pharmacy Technician issued by the PTCB (Cpht) BLS issued by the American Heart Association
