Job Description

Job Title:
Pharmacy Technician
  • Production / Refill Operations Job Summary The Pharmacy Technician supports prescription fulfillment in a high‑volume, automated refill environment.
Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, this role is responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, and distributing medications while maintaining strict quality, safety, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, efficient, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced production setting with repetitive tasks. Key Responsibilities Accurately fill prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsules by reading computer‑generated screens, locating medications on labeled shelves, and verifying correct size and strength. Perform basic mathematical calculations to ensure correct quantities. Replenish automated dispensing cells by opening and loading large quantities of medication. Use handheld scanners to enter lot and expiration data, maintain focus to prevent cross‑contamination, and perform quality checks on expired or damaged products. Complete assigned weekly cycle counts, including audits of primary and secondary bin locations. Assist with research and root cause identification for inventory discrepancies as needed. Prepare cold chain and specialty prescriptions according to specific handling and packing requirements. Assist with packing and shipping prescriptions while adhering to federal and state HIPAA regulations and pharmacy standard operating procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy. Demonstrate strong problem‑resolution skills by identifying issues early, addressing them appropriately, and escalating concerns to management when necessary. Core Competencies Analytical Thinking

  • Resolving issues promptly to minimize operational impact Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent experience Active California Pharmacy Technician License (required) At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience (externships/training not included) Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment preferred PTCB National Certification preferred Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of West Sacramento, CA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00
  • $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
