This position is located with Evans Army Community Hospital, Directorate of Clinical Support, Department of Pharmacy Inpatient Pharmacy at Fort Carson, CO This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. This job is open to The public U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties Determine type of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed. Receive, review, prepare, and fill physician orders for prescriptions. Enter prescriptions into outpatient computer system. Obtain the pharmaceutical, prepare package labels, and set up for review. Sign for controlled substances as they are received. Take steps to rectify discrepancies as they are found. Maintain and cleaning of assigned medication dispensing stations. Preform sterile drug compounding in accordance with USP 797 Perform hazardous drug compounding in accordance with USP 797 and USP 800 Perform non-sterile drug compounding in accordance with USP 795 Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing. Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS. Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption. Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnights). This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, overnights and/or varying work schedules This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals). Qualifications Who May Apply:

Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes filling and distributing pharmaceuticals; maintaining accurate inventory of all controlled substances; and utilizing automated Pharmacy based computer systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR Education:

A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Pharmacology.

OR Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. PTCB Certification/License preferred but not required. Education
