Job Description

Overview Geriscript of CT is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician specializing in Long Term Care (LTC) pharmacy to join our healthcare team. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on patient care and medication management. The ideal candidate will have experience in an LTC pharmacy setting, hospital, or acute care environment, and possess strong knowledge of medical terminology and aseptic techniques. This position is essential in supporting medication preparation, patient service, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Duties Prepare and dispense medications accurately for long-term care patients, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatments. Assist with medication intake processes, verifying prescriptions, and updating patient records. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication administration and patient care. Manage inventory, stock medications, and ensure proper storage according to safety protocols. Provide excellent patient service by addressing medication inquiries and ensuring timely delivery of medications. Maintain compliance with hospital or LTC facility policies, including documentation and record-keeping. Participate in medication reconciliation and assist with clinical documentation as needed. Skills Proven experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital/acute care setting. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and pharmacy operations. Knowledge of critical care procedures and intake processes. Ability to work efficiently within a team while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools. This position provides a vital role in delivering high quality healthcare services through accurate medication management and compassionate patient support. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, technical competence, and a commitment to patient safety in all aspects of their work.
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
