Actalent is Hiring a Filling Pharmacy Technician // Full-Time! Job Description This full-time Pharmacy Filling Technician role focuses on accurately receiving, transcribing, and entering resident prescriptions in a fast-paced long-term-care pharmacy setting. You will play a key role in dispensing, filling, packaging, and preparing medications for shipment while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring high standards of accuracy and safety. Responsibilities Receive resident prescriptions and verify completeness and accuracy of the information provided. Transcribe and enter prescription data into the pharmacy's operating and order entry systems with a high level of accuracy. Dispense medications according to established procedures and regulatory requirements. Fill, package, and label medications for residents in a long-term-care setting. Prepare medications and orders for shipment, ensuring correct packaging and documentation. Perform data entry tasks related to prescription processing, order fulfillment, and resident records. Support prescription intake by reviewing, organizing, and prioritizing incoming orders. Use pharmacy computer systems and related technology to manage workflow and track orders. Collaborate with pharmacy staff to maintain an efficient, organized, and safe work area. Provide courteous and professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Follow all pharmacy policies, procedures, and applicable regulations to protect patient safety. Work scheduled shifts reliably, including later shifts and occasional Saturdays, while remaining on your feet for extended periods. Essential Skills Active registration as a pharmacy technician (Registered Pharmacy Technician). Pharmacy technician license in good standing, as required by state regulations. Experience in a pharmacy setting such as retail pharmacy, long-term-care pharmacy, or similar environment. Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy-related software. Ability to handle prescription intake, including receiving, reviewing, and organizing prescriptions. Capability to dispense, fill, and package medications following established procedures. Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Ability to stand for up to 8-hour shifts and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Comfort working later shifts as part of the regular schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential is beneficial. Experience in long-term-care (LTC) pharmacy or fulfillment-focused roles is an advantage. Familiarity with order entry systems and pharmacy dispensing workflows. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. High level of reliability, integrity, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality. Work Environment This role is based in a fast-paced long-term-care pharmacy environment with a primary focus on filling and fulfillment activities. You will work mainly on-site in the pharmacy, using computer systems, order entry software, and dispensing equipment to process and prepare medications for residents. The schedule varies Monday through Friday between approximately 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday shifts from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You must be comfortable working the later shift as needed. The position requires standing for most of the shift and working efficiently in a production-oriented setting while maintaining accuracy and adherence to pharmacy procedures and safety standards. Attire is typical professional pharmacy or healthcare dress appropriate for an active, clinical support environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cape Coral, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
