Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract This opportunity offers a dynamic role as a Pharmacy Technician supporting a busy pharmacy environment in Clearwater, FL. Over the 13-week contract, you will engage in critical tasks that ensure seamless prescription processing and exceptional patient service. The position operates Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with an anticipated start date about 1.5 to 2 weeks following offer acceptance.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process prescriptions and handle insurance adjudications, promptly resolving any claim rejections. Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification and assist with packing and shipping. Perform data entry and manage prescription documentation while maintaining effective communication with patients and prescribers. Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration checks. Support returns, medication quarantines, and proper destruction procedures. Cross-train in various pharmacy areas to provide flexible department support. Ensure adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations to safeguard compliance.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Active PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus. Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management abilities. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
