Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and managing medications within diverse healthcare settings. Your dedication to patient service, attention to detail, and technical skills will ensure accurate medication delivery and uphold the highest standards of pharmacy practice. Duties Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling prescriptions accurately and efficiently. Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, storage, and proper documentation to ensure availability and safety. Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions, verifying prescriptions, and supporting medication intake processes. Prepare and deliver IV infusions with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and hospital protocols for critical care or acute care patients. Support hospital staff with medication administration procedures, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and safety standards. Conduct intake assessments for new prescriptions, verifying patient information and ensuring proper documentation. Maintain meticulous records of medication dispensing, inventory logs, and compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements. Qualifications Proven pharmacy technician experience in LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital, or acute care settings. Critical care experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with complex medication regimens. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic technique, and IV infusion procedures. Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and education. Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools. Certification as a pharmacy technician (e.g., PTCB or equivalent) is required; ongoing education in medical terminology or specialized pharmacy areas is a plus. $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
