Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing excellent customer service, maintaining accuracy in prescription processing, and supporting pharmacists in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. - Accurately interpret, enter, and process prescription orders.
- Bill and process prescriptions through various insurance plans, ensuring all required information (BIN, PCN, NDC, day supply, etc.) is entered correctly.
- Count, fill, and prepare prescription and OTC orders for pharmacist verification.
- Monitor compound inventory and communicate compounding needs to pharmacy staff.
- Enter new compound formulations into Rx30, including accurate ingredient lists and cost information.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with questions, concerns, and problem resolution.
- Routinely check and respond to voicemail messages and patient requests.
- Prioritize prescription workflow based on shipping schedules, medication availability, and provider requests.
- Regularly monitor medication and supply inventory levels and identify items requiring reorder.
- Inspect inventory for expired medications and compounds and follow established procedures for removal.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions accurately.
- Pre-package commonly used quantities of high-volume medications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by pharmacy management or pharmacists. Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician registration/certification as required by state regulations.
- Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
- Experience with pharmacy management software, including Rx30, is a plus.
- Knowledge of prescription processing, insurance billing, and pharmacy operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
