Responsibilities Assists pharmacy department with variety of vital functions including maintaining automation, performing quality improvement/data collection, evaluation/maintenance of clean room/compounding areas, oversight of daily technician roles, ensuring compliance with regulatory/accreditation standards and processing of medication orders and or medication requests from a pharmacist. This position provides organizational and technical support to ensure proper preparation of pharmaceuticals and compliance with established protocol and guidelines for pharmacy operations. Lead Technician - Surgery Pharmacy Provides guidance and serves as a knowledgeable resource for staff regarding surgery pharmacy. Participates with onboarding and training new employees. Participates in development and coordination of staff education, specifically related to operations in the procedural areas. Assist in maintain appropriate inventory control for non-controlled medications and supplies in surgery pharmacy satellites. Assists with special projects, competency assessments and provides extra assistance in accomplishing tasks beyond the normal daily workload. Responsible for creating the pharmacy technician work schedule with approval from surgery pharmacy leadership. Coordinates all daily, weekly and monthly cleaning procedures for compounding environments. Coordinates and assures quality of pharmaceuticals by maintaining USP 797 compounding requirements. Qualifications
REQUIRED
Current registration as a Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) by PTCB or National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Three (3) years of experience in either hospital or advanced pharmacy role.
PREFERRED
Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician or pharmacy training program. One (1) year as a Pharmacy Technician at Northside Hospital.
