Job Title:
Pharmacy Floor Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Floor Technician to join our team. This position involves working the PM shift from 6:30 PM to 3:00 AM, with additional shifts every other weekend from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. You will play an essential role in preparing finished prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. Responsibilities Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist. Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose of them according to procedure. Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store them during low volume times. Manually package materials and products. Pull/pick medications from shelving and other storage areas. Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks. Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly. Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all necessary stock supplies. Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA. Be prepared to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required. Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to work at a moderate speed. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Possess and maintain a clear and active IL Pharmacy Technician License issued by the IL Board of Pharmacy. Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or NHA. Minimum of 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred. Experience from a closed-door pharmacy is an advantage but not required. Work Environment This role requires working the PM shift from 6:30 PM to 3:00 AM, with every other weekend scheduled from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. The work environment may involve sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking intermittently throughout the day. Employees may need to work extended hours, lift up to 25 pounds, and possess fine motor skills to operate office equipment. Visual acuity for reading fine print and color vision are necessary. A 10% shift differential will be added to the base pay for covering hours after 5 PM. Compliance with safety, attendance, and dress code policies is mandatory. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burr Ridge, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
