A Pharmacy Technician works under the direction of a pharmacist to dispense prescription medications. Serves customers and helps to fill prescriptions. Works in a retail pharmacy or healthcare facility.
Responsibilities The chemotherapy pharmacy technician is trained and proficient in the sterile and non-sterile compounding techniques required for the handling of hazardous drugs. The technician primarily works in the IV room compounding hazardous drug products for hospitals with significant oncology programs. Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1.
High school diploma or equivalent required 2. 1 year of sterile compounding experience required 3. 3 years of related pharmacy experience preferred 4. National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) Chemo Certification or similar required 5. State Pharmacy Technician License and Registration required (if required per state regulations) 6.
