Overview Symbria Rx is currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to add to our growing IV-Production team in Woodridge, IL . Symbria services long-term care settings such as: Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory care, Developmental communities and many more specialized live-in settings. Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to assist the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for distribution to Long-Term Care (LTC) communities based on physician orders, achieved by following departmental policies and procedures within the scope of pharmacy standards. This position will involve sterile compounding, non-sterile compounding in addition to filling other non-compounded medications based on the needs of workflow.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm. Rotating Saturdays with Friday off. Responsibilities Prepare IV solutions, including calculation and compounding of IV's according to physician's prescription with 100% accuracy. Process IV orders through the pharmacy software system. Set up new IV compounds in the pharmacy software system utilizing the IV price code table. Create and maintain resident IV folder in the paperless software system. Follow aseptic technique while compounding in IV hood. Track usage of IV pumps sent to communities and arrange for retrieval. Properly dispose of expired/returned IV solutions. Meet daily deadlines of scheduled medication deliveries. Assist and maintain accurate IV inventory. Submit daily insurance claims and adjudicate any IV rejections. Maintain daily, weekly and monthly cleaning responsibilities that follow the standard 797 codes for IV Room maintenance. Must complete IV Room and temperature logs with 100% accuracy. Must have the ability to manage workflow independently. Qualifications High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Pharmacy Technician license and Certification (CPhT) required.
