Beth Israel Deaconess Milton is seeking a per diem, Pharmacy Technician. Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy/Staff Pharmacist, following established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, the Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of pharmacy related functions including filling routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and I.V. admixtures. This is a per diem position.
Job Description:
Essential Core Responsibilities:
- Restocks floor stock/automated dispensing machines.
- Enters charges/credits against patient profile to ensure an accurate bill.
- Monitors medication order reports to assign medication to an automated dispensing machine.
- Delivers all medication in compliance with all
DEA, DPH
& State Board of Pharmacy regulations.- Repackages bulk supplies of medications in unit of use packaging in accordance with all Federal
USP & USP
standards.- Prepares and delivers IV medications in accordance with Federal
USP & USP
standards. Maintains records pertaining to IV admixtures, maintains cleanliness in sterile areas, and completes QA.- Checks for expired medications within the pharmacy & automated dispensing cabinets.
RCRA, OSHA & NIOSH
regulationsRequired Qualifications:
- 0-1 years experience (entry level)
- High School Diploma/GED
- Registered Technician with State
CPhT Preferred Qualifications:
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Sterile compounding experience
