We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician (certified preferred but not required) to join a skilled team of healthcare professionals to ensure animals have access to customized medications. This person needs to be detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Pharmacy Technician Data Entry and customer service
- Facilitate with accurate and timely prescription data entry and billing.
- Processing refills and new prescriptions in pharmacy software and The Compounder
- PK Software.
- Requesting/accepting prescription refills.
- Retrieving emails, faxes, and voicemails for prescriptions.
- Process reports, access patient prescription profiles in pharmacy software.
- Creating compounded medication logs into pharmacy's software.
- Able to perform calculations (such as: day supply, cost of prescription, etc.)
- Communication with pet owners on the prescription process and answering questions (relaying to pharmacists when needed).
- Bringing prescriptions to the client at the pick up area.
- Delivering in-patient prescriptions to the ICU/ER department and logging them into the prescription log books.
- Assist in shipping role (creating shipping labels, packaging, and printing shipping reports.
- Help keep track of medication stock inventory. Adding in new/received inventory/supplies into pharmacy's software.
- Following any applicable USP and regulations.
Qualifications:
Punctuality and reliability are a must High School diploma or equivalent Registered by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Current CPhT license preferred, but not required 1 year experience in non-sterile compounding and working knowledge of USP 795 regulations, preferred, but not required Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure Physical demands: walk, stand, sit, reach with arms and hands, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Must have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
