_PARAGRAPH JOB_DESCRIPTION.SHARE.HTML Alma, Michigan Pharmacy 0700 to 2200 Regular Full-Time Rotating Pharmacy 46736 Job Description Summary The Pharmacy Technician is an entry-level position. Following a training period, the Technician should be able to decipher and enter orders on the computer, compound IVs, charge and credit, fill orders, answer phones and doors, and stock the department. Responsibilities (20%- ) Runs reports, pulls medications and restocks Automated Dispensing Machines, follows up on narcotic discrepancies, trouble-shoots problems, aides and trains nurses on dispensing problems. (20%)
- Compounds IV and piggyback medications, using aseptic technique and universal precautions. Follows USP 797 guidelines. (15%)
- Run labels using the computer in an accurate and timely manner. (15%)
- Fills, reconciles and exchanges 24 hour UD medicine carts using McKesson robot and Cerner. (15%)
- Repackages non-unit dose medications correctly using PacMed and McKesson repackager. (15%)
- Replaces and fills floor stock: fills EMS boxes, crash cart trays, open heart meds and Omnicell Anesthesia carts and delivers to appropriate area; completes monthly floor stock on other hospital departments; stocks UD area and IV room if needed.
