This role involves supporting pharmacy operations in various clinical environments, including LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital, and acute care settings. The ideal candidate will possess critical care experience, proficiency in medication management, and a strong commitment to patient service and safety. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care through accurate medication preparation, dispensing, and administration, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and pharmacy protocols Assist pharmacists with medication inventory management, including stock replenishment and expiration tracking Support IV infusion procedures by maintaining aseptic technique and sterile compounding standards Perform medication intake procedures, verifying prescriptions against patient records and medical terminology Ensure compliance with hospital policies, including aseptic techniques and medication safety protocols Provide exceptional patient service by addressing medication-related inquiries professionally Document medication administration details accurately within electronic health records Collaborate with healthcare teams to support critical care and acute care patient needs Maintain detailed records of medication preparation, dispensing, and administration activities Adhere strictly to safety standards related to medication handling and patient careExperience:
Proven pharmacy technician experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital environments Demonstrated critical care experience with a focus on acute patient management Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations and patient care Experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique is highly desirable Strong understanding of medication administration procedures within hospital settings Knowledge of pharmacy software systems used for intake, documentation, and inventory control Prior exposure to medical protocols related to intensive or acute care settings This position is ideal for professionals committed to advancing their expertise in pharmacy operations within dynamic healthcare environments.
