Marie, Michigan Pharmacy variable shifts between 0700-1930 Regular Full-Time Any Shift Pharmacy 47427 Job Description Summary The Pharmacy Technician is an entry-level position. Following a training period, the Technician should be able to competently use hospital EMR for daily duties, use automated dispensing machines, compound IVs, charge and credit, fill orders, answer phones and doors, and stock the department. Responsibilities (20%)- Runs reports, pulls medications and restocks Automated Dispensing Machines, follows up on narcotic discrepancies, trouble shoots problems, aides and trains nurses on dispensing problems. (20%)
- Compounds IV and piggyback medications, using aseptic technique and universal precautions. Follows USP 797 guidelines. (20%)
- Support the work of the pharmacists, assists in the set-up of orders and aide in the expedition of orders to the nursing units. (20%)
- Replaces and fills floor stock: fills EMS boxes and crash cart trays and delivers to appropriate area; completes monthly floor stock on other hospital departments; stocks UD area and IV room. (10%)
- Fills, reconciles and exchanges 24 hour UD medicine carts. (10%)
- Answers phone, retrieves tubes and faxes.
