Onsite Position Summary:
- Work with the Pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner.
Background & Context:
The primary purpose of this team is to work on partner manufacture free drug programs. This team works primarily on the fulfillment side of orders, assist in inventory management/shipping and general cleaning and organizing in the pharmacy. We are a closed door pharmacy with minimal in person contact with patients. Backfill for FTE.Key Responsibilities:
- Interact with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basis
- Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist
- Perform prescription data entry functions (preQA) by viewing images and inputting prescription information directly into the system
- Prepare and submit request for prescription refills
- Initiate clarification requests
- Receive verbal instructions from prescribers as allowed by pharmacy regulation
- Complete reorder processing for the timely filling of prescription refills
- Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements, and company policies
- Complete work list according to guidelines set by Manager
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- The pharmacy technician would primary be responsible for preparing orders for pharmacist to review. Pharmacy technicians would help with inventory management, shipping and general cleaning and organizing in the pharmacy.
- Expectations is for all scheduled orders to be shipped out.
Qualification & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office (i.e. biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification) experience. Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses.
- Current state's Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
- State pharmacy technician license relative to where the assigned pharmacy is located (exception being NY where a pharmacy technician license is not required).
