Job Description
Overview Greater Meridian Health Clinic, Inc. seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in pharmacy operations, with expertise in medication preparation, patient service, and regulatory compliance. As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacists by ensuring accurate medication dispensing, maintaining patient confidentiality, and adhering to all state and federal pharmacy laws. Responsibilities Accurately enter prescription data into pharmacy software systems while maintaining high levels of data integrity. Prepare and compound medications, including sterile IV admixtures and aseptic techniques, following strict sterile procedures. Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing, inventory management, and stock replenishment. Provide exceptional patient service by answering inquiries, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring timely medication delivery. Maintain compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards and ensure adherence to all state healthcare regulations. Support the pharmacy team in drug regulation procedures and documentation for legal compliance. Perform medication calculations accurately for dosing and compounding purposes. Ensure the confidentiality of patient information at all times in accordance with privacy laws. Participate in hospital or community pharmacy operations, including intake procedures and medication administration support when needed. Requirements Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; current registration or licensure as required by state law. Prior experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care, clinical pharmacy, or hospital pharmacy settings preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, and pharmacological medical terminology. Experience with pharmacy software systems and data entry processes essential for efficient workflow management. Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards and drug regulation laws at the state and federal levels. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to ensure readiness for emergency situations. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
