506264 Leading national healthcare company is hiring Patient Support & Reimbursement Coordinators in Cary, NC.
Location:
On-Site Office located in Cary, NC.
Schedule:
Monday•Friday | 11:00 AM•8:00 PM Job Summary The Patient Support & Reimbursement Coordinator provides telephonic support to patients and serves as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and internal teams throughout the reimbursement and patient assistance process. This role is responsible for coordinating financial assistance, initiating prior authorizations, documenting patient interactions, and ensuring timely progression of patient services while delivering exceptional customer support. Key Responsibilities Provide telephonic support and counseling to patients regarding patient support programs and reimbursement services. Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and internal teams. Document all patient interactions and communications accurately in the Biologics Management Information System (MIS). Research and secure available copay assistance and financial support resources for eligible patients. Communicate patient status updates to healthcare providers and maintain accurate documentation of all interactions. Initiate prior authorizations using provider clinical documentation through payer portals, phone, or fax. Follow up with manufacturers, foundations, and third-party assistance programs until a final determination is made regarding copay or free drug assistance. Respond to inbound calls from patients, providers, clinics, and manufacturer customer service lines regarding patient support services, financial assistance, and application status. Collaborate with the Benefits Investigation team to initiate the pharmacy dispensing workflow once financial assistance determinations are complete. Coordinate prescription transfers to preferred pharmacies or manufacturer hubs when Biologics is unable to service the patient and confirm receipt. Identify, document, and escalate adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) according to established procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with web-based applications and data entry systems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information professionally. Preferred Skills Experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement, patient support, or a related customer service environment. Knowledge of prior authorizations, insurance benefits, copay assistance, or patient assistance programs. Experience supporting specialty pharmacy or pharmaceutical patient support programs. Familiarity with insurance verification, reimbursement processes, and financial assistance programs. Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills. Work Environment On-site position. Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM-8:00 PM. Independent work environment with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
