Job Title:

Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description This role offers the opportunity to support patients and healthcare providers in a fast-paced specialty pharmacy call center environment. The Pharmacy Technician reviews referrals, creates accurate patient profiles, and ensures prescriptions are clinically appropriate for processing. You play a key role in gathering and validating information so that other teams can efficiently serve patients and help them access needed medications. Responsibilities

+ Work on moderately complex assignments, using sound judgment to resolve issues and make routine recommendations with minimal supervision on day-to-day tasks.

+ Review referral contents to confirm that all required information is complete and accurate before moving forward in the workflow.

+ Create patient profiles from scanned or faxed images by accurately entering patient and provider information so that downstream teams can successfully serve the patient.

+ Conduct initial checks of prescriptions to verify clinical accuracy and readiness for processing.

+ Communicate with providers regarding referral status, prescription clarification, missing information, and patient concerns to ensure all information is collected and correct before it reaches other teams.

+ Update concise and clear progress notes so other roles in the workflow can quickly assess the status of each referral.

+ Enter new provider information, including National Provider Identifier (NPI), accurately into the system to support reporting and business intelligence activities.

+ Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Deliver courteous and professional customer service in a call center setting, focusing on provider and internal team interactions rather than direct patient contact.

+ Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations and overall workflow. Essential Skills

+ Pharmacy technician certification.

+ Prior experience working in a pharmacy setting. + 2+ years of pharmacy operations experience preferred.

+ Experience in a call center or high-volume verification environment.

+ Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Customer service skills, particularly in a pharmacy or healthcare context.

+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.

+ Competence in basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems.

+ Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

+ Ability to work effectively with people across different teams and functions.

+ Conscientious, detail-oriented approach to work.

+ Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments.

+ High school diploma required.

+ Healthcare experience preferred.

+ NC pharmacy registration (NCBOP) preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in specialty pharmacy or similar healthcare settings is an advantage.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with providers and documenting referral status.

+ Comfort working with scanned and faxed documents and translating them into accurate electronic records.

+ Ability to work with business intelligence or reporting teams by ensuring accurate provider data entry.

+ Demonstrated reliability and performance in training and production environments, with potential for longer-term opportunities based on performance. Work Environment This position is based in an office call center environment within a rapidly growing specialty pharmacy focused on simplifying access to medications and delivering personalized care. You will work onsite Monday through Friday, with no weekend shifts and no direct patient contact. The operation is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST, with training typically scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; successful team members may remain on that shift or transition to a 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. schedule. Major holidays are observed and the office is closed on those days. If converted to a permanent role, the schedule may shift to a hybrid onsite/remote arrangement. The environment is professional, computer-based, and focused on accuracy, efficiency, and collaborative support of patients and providers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
