Job Title:
Pharmacy Technician (Nationally Certified) Job Description This role offers an opportunity for a nationally certified Pharmacy Technician to support prescription fulfillment in a high-volume, production-oriented pharmacy environment. You will work primarily Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional mandatory overtime and periodic Saturday shifts. The position is based in Charlotte, NC and involves working as part of a collaborative team of pharmacy technicians under the guidance of a supervisor. Responsibilities Process and fill prescription orders accurately and efficiently in preparation for pharmacist verification. Prepare medications and related materials for pharmacist review, ensuring compliance with pharmacy standards and procedures. Perform packing and shipping of completed prescription orders to patients, following established packaging and shipping protocols. Maintain drug inventory, including monitoring stock levels, rotating inventory, and assisting with ordering or restocking as needed. Manage and maintain automated dispensing units to ensure they are stocked, organized, and functioning properly. Replenish workstation supplies for filling prescriptions, including vials, caps, labels, and related materials, to support continuous workflow. Follow all pharmacy regulations, safety procedures, and quality standards while handling medications and patient orders. Work efficiently in a production-type environment, meeting productivity and accuracy expectations. Collaborate with other pharmacy technicians and the supervising pharmacist or supervisor to ensure smooth daily operations. Participate in scheduled weekend rotation and intermittent mandatory overtime as required to support operational needs. Essential Skills National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (such as PTCB or PTCE). Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP). Prior pharmacy technician experience; any level of pharmacy technician experience will be considered. Ability to process and fill prescription orders accurately in a fulfillment setting. Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-type environment. Strong attention to detail when handling medications, labels, and inventory. Ability to work the core schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with flexibility for variable hours. Willingness to work occasional mandatory overtime and participate in a weekend rotation. Comfort working with automated dispensing units and inventory systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential. Pharmacy technician license or certificate in addition to national certification. Self-motivated work style with the ability to stay focused and productive in a high-volume environment. Experience in a fulfillment or mail-order pharmacy setting. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a production workflow. Effective communication skills to collaborate with a team of pharmacy technicians and supervisory staff. Comfort with moderately technical interview discussions related to pharmacy technician duties and processes. Work Environment The role is based in a pharmacy fulfillment setting in Charlotte, NC, working alongside a team of approximately 21 pharmacy technicians led by a supervisor. The environment is fast-paced and production-oriented, focused on processing, filling, packing, and shipping prescription orders. Standard hours are variable but generally a minimum of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some Saturday shifts and intermittent mandatory overtime. You will work with drug inventory systems and automated dispensing units, and you will regularly handle vials, caps, labels, and other prescription fulfillment supplies. The position requires consistent adherence to pharmacy regulations, safety procedures, and operational protocols in a structured, team-based setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
