JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing clerical and organizational support to the assigned area/department. Under direct supervision, the individual works with the pharmacist in dispensing and stocking of medications for patient care for all ages of patients from infants to elderly. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Adheres to Mary Lanning Healthcare's Mission, Vision, and Values. Adheres to Mary Lanning Healthcare's Standards of Behavior. Performs a variety of distributive functions which require preparing, filling, and restocking medications and supplies. Activities include, but are not limited to, stocking automated dispensing cabinets, emergency medication carts, medication kits and trays, and pharmacy supplies. Checks for discontinued IV admixture solutions and IV piggyback solutions on patient care units and return unused medications to the pharmacy. Selecting medications from stock locations and preparing first doses complete with labeling of medications pursuant to inpatient and outpatient medication orders/prescriptions. Compounding sterile products, IV medications, using aseptic technique. Repackaging of bulk oral solid and liquid medications to unit dose form under pharmacist supervision. Maintains accurate packaging log under pharmacist supervision. Interviews patient/patient family for complete and accurate home medications history and will assist with admission home medication histories as required. Performs a variety of clerical support activities.
