Pharmacy Technician
  • Federal Contract | IHS Taos, NM Prime Physicians Tri Providers LLC / Wellpath Medical LLC is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to provide non-personal healthcare services at the Taos Picuris Service Unit (Indian Health Service) in Taos, NM.

  • Friday | 8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM | Full-Time (40 hrs/week)
Contract Duration:
1 year with possibility of extension up to 4 additional years (through June 2030)
Start Date:
ASAP (approx. 6-8 weeks onboarding) What You'll Do Fill and dispense prescriptions under pharmacist supervision Input prescription data into billing/POS systems per IHS guidelines Verify billable prescriptions and ensure accurate reimbursement documentation Research and resolve rejected insurance claims with Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs) Contact providers for clarification on incomplete or unclear prescriptions Maintain and rotate pharmaceutical inventory; procure supplies as needed Maintain patient insurance files in coordination with the Patient Benefits Coordinator Follow all IHS Pharmacy Manual policies, TPSU procedures, and HIPAA standards What You'll Need High School Diploma or equivalent (required) Active Pharmacy Technician License
  • any state accepted (strongly preferred) PTCB or ExCPT certification a plus Prior pharmacy technician experience required Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, generic/trade names, dosage forms, and pharmacy math Experience with pharmacy software, POS/online billing systems, and PBM helpdesks Familiarity with Medicaid programs and insurance claims processing HIPAA compliance and medical records experience Bilingual/multicultural communication skills a plus (non-English-speaking patient population served) Why Apply?
