Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a contract role with the potential to transition to permanent status. This position supports a patient population managing multiple complex chronic conditions, requiring a compassionate and knowledgeable professional to assist with medication dispensing and patient communication.
Location:
Dublin, OH Job Type:
Contract (8 weeks) with possible contract-to-hire opportunity
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (no weekends)
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients managing multiple prescriptions (typically 8-15 medications daily) Provide clear, patient-centered communication, especially for those with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis Use specialty retail pharmacy software (Pioneer Rx preferred; training available) to manage prescriptions and patient profiles Support a Medicare/Medicaid patient base that often has low literacy; demonstrate patience and compassion while counseling patients Collaborate closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
Desired Qualifications:
Proven experience as a retail pharmacy technician, ideally within specialty pharmacy settings Strong familiarity with the top 200-400 retail medications and chronic disease management Exceptional communication skills with an ability to interact empathetically with vulnerable patient populations Experience working with patients who have chronic conditions; resumes should explicitly highlight this background Prior knowledge of Pioneer Rx software is a plus, though training will be provided This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the health of complex patient populations while gaining valuable experience in specialty retail pharmacy.
