We are a closed door, mail-order pharmacy in Imperial, Pennsylvania. We have an exclusive partnership with an industry-leading telemedicine company Curology that makes prescription skincare affordable and accessible online - matching each subscribed member with a dermatology provider who prescribes custom formulas for their unique needs. We compound high quality non-sterile topical creams and ship them directly to patients in their homes. Why you'll love this job: Paid training and benefits Day time hours and no weekends Paid Holidays Free drink & snacks Free Curology/Agency Subscription Position Overview The Pharmacy Technician, Non-Sterile Compounding is responsible for counting, pouring, preparing and/or compounding medication under the direct supervision of the Managing Pharmacist, Compounding Laboratory. The Pharmacy Technician, Non-Sterile Compounding cleans, disinfects and maintains the compounding laboratory and proximal areas. The Pharmacy Technician, Non-Sterile Compounding also cleans and disinfects equipment and accessories in the compounding laboratory. The Pharmacy Technician, Non-Sterile Compounding is supervised by the Managing Pharmacist, Compounding Laboratory. Essential Functions Complies with all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws, including but not limited to:
USP 800, USP
795, and Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy requirements. Performs all duties of pharmacy technician, as needed. Performs duties in compliance with Personalized Skin Solutions, Inc. standard operating procedures and best practices, under the direct supervision of the Compounding Director. Operates biosafety cabinets, mixers, and other compounding equipment including overhead stirrer and unguator. Prepares documentation for samples sent to analytical labs as needed. Generates Log Formula Worksheets (LFW) from Master Formula Record (MFR). Calibrates equipment prior to use. Creates and/or prints drug labels, subject to pharmacist supervision and checking, in compliance with Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy law. Counts, pours, prepare and compounds medication under the direct supervision of the Compounding Director and/or Pharmacist managing the compounding laboratory. Disposes of lab waste in accordance with pharmacy SOPs. Labels prescription containers under the direct supervision of the Compounding Director. Keeps the laboratory environment clean, organized and stocked. Fills in logs and reports, accurately and completely. Receives incoming drug and supply shipments. Cleans and disinfects the equipment and facility in accordance with pharmacy directives. Documents all cleaning and disinfection activity on logs, in accordance with pharmacy SOPs. Maintains confidentiality of protected patient health information. Completes special projects assigned by Compounding Director. Meets deadlines. Performs other duties, responsibilities and activities, as needed. Work Requirements The Pharmacy Technician, Non-Sterile Compounding must be able to work in an industrial environment, standing and walking around as much as 70% of the day. Must be able to safely and effectively wear a respirator for a full day, as necessary. May need to lift as much as 40 lbs. Must be able to pass drug test, prior to hire, as well as any subsequent random drug tests. Flexible to work weekends, as necessary. Typing and computer usage throughout the day. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks from multiple sources. Ability to grasp concepts and re-apply that information in similar situations. Interacts politely and effectively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and others. Limited exposure to potentially hazardous substances. Must have good attendance and be consistently punctual. Qualifications and Skills Minimum Requirements Required Licensure:
The pharmacy technician must be positioned to obtain Pennsylvania pharmacy technician licensure and be in good standing with the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy, when the Board of Pharmacy initiates pharmacy technician licensure requirements. Must be able to pass a background check. Strong sense of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information. Must exhibit sense of urgency and initiative while maintaining attention to detail, and meeting compounding deadlines. Interact politely and effectively with pharmacy team members, prescribing practitioners, and patients. Preferred Requirements Pharmacy Technician Certification, is a plus. Work experience in topical medication compounding. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience in a compounding pharmacy is preferred, but not required. Experience in a mail-order pharmacy preferred, but not required.
