Responsibilities Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding. Assist with medication intake, medication administration, and patient consultations to ensure proper usage and adherence. Manage pharmacy inventory, including restocking supplies, verifying stock levels, and ensuring proper storage of medications. Support patient care by providing excellent service, answering medication-related questions, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. Maintain precise documentation of medication dispensing, patient records, and pharmacy logs in compliance with regulatory standards. Follow all safety protocols related to aseptic technique, critical care procedures, and hospital pharmacy practices to uphold patient safety. Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings such as LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacies or hospital environments to optimize medication therapy. Requirements Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication preparation, and pharmacy operations. Prior experience working in LTC pharmacy, hospital settings, or critical care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of IV infusion procedures, aseptic techniques, and medication administration protocols. Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and compliance with safety standards. Certification as a pharmacy technician (e.g., PTCB or equivalent) is required; ongoing education in acute care or hospital pharmacy practices is a plus.
