Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for the Central Fill Pharmacy at Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach, VA.
Location:
Sentara Independence - 800 Independence Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23455
Status:
Full Time (40 Hours/wk)
Shift:
Days, 8 hour shifts
Hours:
Mon-Fri 0800-1630 The Central Fill Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately and efficiently repackaging oral solid medications utilizing automated robotic dispensing and packaging systems. This role supports high-volume pharmacy operations by ensuring medications are prepared, labeled, and distributed in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity. Participates in the training of new employees Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to pharmacy operations Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice Education High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) Certification/Licensure Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required) CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required) Experience One Year of Pharmacy Experience (Required) Central Fill Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)
