Position Summary We are seeking experienced Pharmacy Technicians to support a high-volume inbound call center focused on the criteria-based prior authorization process for a national leading healthcare company. In this role, you will provide professional and courteous assistance to members, providers, and other healthcare professionals. You will review clinical documentation for completeness, accurately document authorization determinations, and escalate clinical questions or judgment calls to a pharmacist. This is a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment requiring strong customer service, communication, documentation, and computer skills. Key ResponsibilitiesHandle a high volume of inbound calls from members, providers, and healthcare professionals.

Provide professional and courteous customer service while assisting callers through the prior authorization process.

Review clinical documentation for completeness and adherence to established criteria.

Accurately document approvals, denials, and case information in a timely manner.

Transfer clinical questions and judgment calls to a pharmacist for further evaluation.

Maintain accurate documentation and follow applicable regulatory requirements and internal procedures.

Navigate multiple computer systems while managing calls and documenting information.

Participate in outbound calls as needed based on business requirements. Required QualificationsMinimum of 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience, preferably in an administrative support, healthcare, or call center environment.

Minimum of 1 year of high-volume customer service or call center experience; healthcare experience is preferred.

Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication processes, and prior authorization workflows.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and multiple systems.

Ability to accurately document call activity, case information, approvals, and denials.

Comfortable working in a structured, high-volume, metrics-driven environment.

Reliable attendance and ability to commit to the full mandatory training period.

Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required.

Certification / LicensurePharmacy Technician certification or state licensure is preferred but not required.

Candidates should be eligible for state registration, certification, or licensure where required by applicable state regulations.
Call Volume Average:
60-100 calls per dayApproximately 8 calls per hour, with volume fluctuating based on business needs.

Primarily inbound calls, with some outbound activity as needed.
