Customer Support Representative - Pharmacy Operations Job Description The Customer Support Representative plays a vital role in Pharmacy Operations by handling inbound pharmacy calls, scheduling refill deliveries, and directing calls to appropriate personnel. The ideal candidate is well-spoken, enthusiastic, organized, and capable of providing a high level of customer service to patients, clinicians, and clients. Responsibilities Serve as the primary resource for inbound telephone calls to minimize workflow interruptions due to non-clinical related customer inquiries, such as general prescription status or financial information. Handle inbound and outbound calls to schedule medication delivery and payment, ensuring accurate information is included in profiles for timely package distribution. Respond directly to customer inquiries when appropriate or route calls to the appropriate staff to ensure prompt resolution and customer satisfaction. Update concise progress notes to enable other roles within the workflow to quickly assess the status of the referral. Provide customer service through management information systems to answer questions regarding refill needs, provide status of pending/shipped prescriptions, verify insurance information, and provide copies of invoices upon request. Answer patient questions and concerns during refill scheduling and transfer to the clinical team (pharmacists and nurses) when appropriate. Identify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to clinicians to ensure patient safety. Perform other duties as assigned, which may vary slightly depending on specific team/program requirements. Essential Skills Registered Pharmacy Technician certification in NC Proficiency in call center operations Experience with management information systems Proficiency in Microsoft applications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to show empathy when talking to patients Professional telephone manner Strong attention to detail Additional Skills & Qualifications Customer service experience preferred Medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred Pharmacy experience is a plus, but not required Medical claims experience is a plus, but not required Experience with data entry and insurance Work Environment This is a hybrid position based in Cary, NC, USA. Once training is completed, the role involves working 2 days in the office and 3 days remotely. Training is conducted entirely in the office. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM during training and 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM EST for the permanent shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cary, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
