Job Description
Pharmacy Technician Associate:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current licensure that meets the State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician licensing requirements.This includes:
A temporary pharmacy technician license (valid for 1 year and is non-renewable) or a full pharmacy technician license upon hire, or a full pharmacy technician license before the temporary license expires. Proficient communication, computer and basic mathematic skills. This position requires primary source verificationPharmacy Technician Graduate:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience Eligible for licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan Pharmacy or currently licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan (Temporary License or Full License). If the individual is not licensed, they will be required to obtain a Temporary Pharmacy Technician License on or before the hire date (valid for 1 year and is non-renewable). The individual will then be required to obtain a Full Pharmacy Technician License within 6 months of hire into a Pharmacy Technician Associate position, or before the expiration of the Temporary Pharmacy Technician License (whichever is sooner). Desired Qualifications• Ability to perform a wide range of physical activity: lifting, pulling, bending, manual dexterity movements. The new regulations allow for a one-time temporary license for up to 1 year, during which time a Technician must successfully complete requirements to become certified and meet all other State of Michigan requirements for a Full Pharmacy Technician License. UMHS Pharmacy Department provides coaching and additional information to support Technicians to become certified and licensed. This can include a Full Michigan Pharmacy Technician License or a Temporary Michigan Pharmacy Technician License. If a technician obtains a Temporary Michigan Pharmacy Technician License on or before their date of hire, they must obtain a Full Michigan Pharmacy Technician License within 1 year of hire date or before the Temporary Michigan Pharmacy Technician License expires, whichever is sooner, in order to maintain employment. In addition, All pharmacy technicians must obtain PTCB certification within 6 months of hire date or in time to obtain a Full Michigan Pharmacy Technician License, whichever is sooner, and they must maintain their PTCB certification throughout the duration of employment at UMHS as a Pharmacy Technician. Modes of Work Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes . Work Schedule This is a full-time position. Hours depend on the infusion center operational hours. Shifts start as early as 6am and end as late as 8pm. Weekends also must be worked on a rotational basis. Rotation among work locations may occur. The locations for which employee rotate through include: Brighton Center for Specialty Care, Children's and Women's Infusion Center, University Hospital, East Ann Arbor Health Center, Northville Health Center, Taubman Center, Rogel Cancer Center, West Ann Arbor Health Center.
